Hello people of SPNO!

I feel the urge to discuss the season 8 finale of Supernatural..  So let's share impressions. :meow:

HERE COME THE SPOILERS, I'VE WARNED YOU

OMG how awesome was that final episode????? I mean, burning angels falling from the sky? I was totally stunned watching this. I find all the angel dramatic stuff so thrilling, how about you guys? ^^ This episode was a total highlight. I think what makes a series really really good is a dynamic character development. And this episode was a single fucking character development explosion.

Sam
First I was shocked seeing Sam so broken when he's about to finally cure Crowley. Okay, Sam has been feeling bad since the very beginning of the trials, but seeing him so broken and just an inch away from death was so breathtaking and shocking.

Crowley
Then Crowley. Oh my god, I've always loved Crowley as a character. Mark Sheppard is so so so incredibly talented (he played also a very interesting character in Battlestar Galactica, Romo Lampkin, maybe some of you have watched him there too?) and I so so so enjoyed this character change from careless evil to suffering regretful during the curing process. And just think about it, how often did we see Crowley really scared? I can recall only that one time when the boys dug up his bones. So watching Crowley living through that change of emotion, starting with Dean catching him, continuing with him being exposed in front of Abadon and then going all sentimental and emotional in front of Sam. I was literally sitting there with my mouth opened.

Cas
And Cas. Poor poor lovely Cas. T_T Betrayed by a brother yet another time. And his mojo taken, once again. And watching all his brothers and sisters falling from the sky, burning.

What now???
Such a cliffhanger. What's gonna happen to Crowley now? Will he go back to being all demonic since Sam didn't finish curing him? Will Sam be okay ever again or is he marked forever by the consequences of the trials? What will happen to Cas now? Will he become the 2014 Cas we got to know in season 5? (Yeeeees pleeeaaaaase I fucking love 2014!Cas !!!) I mean, it's still Cas, so he has the potential of becoming the Cas from that alternate timeline. And where the hell is he anyway after his fall? xD

Did I forget anybody? Maybe only Kevin. The poor kid (who's not so much kid any more) doesn't know what the fuck is going on. What was that with that control panel and the world map with all the lights?! First I thought Metatron had launched all the nuclear missiles in the world. O.o  But apperently it was the burning, falling angels. But why would the falling angels make the lamps on the world map in an old bunker light up? Is there any deeper sense behind that? xD

My conclusion
Season 8 suprised me. Since after season 5 I always had the feeling that the series had surpassed it's highest. Still I kept watching, because nevertheless the series is still awesome. And now after season 8 has ended, I must admit that the creators suprised me. They have created a new storyline and a huge cliffhanger. Season 8 was one of the best after season 5 in my opinion. Plus all the awesome new actors and guest actors! My personal happymakers: Felicia Day and Amanda Tapping!!! I guess most people know Amanda Tapping from Stargate SG-1 or Sanctuary. She's really an awesome actress. :D

Your conclusion?
So what do you think guys? What is going to happen next? What would you like to see happen to our beloved characters? What's gonna happen to the world now that apperently all angels are angels no more? What will be going on in Hell, will Abadon take over now? Share your opinion about the season and the finale. I would be veeeery interested in your opinions and impressions! :D

If you got that far, thank you for reading!  I can't wait to see what you guys think.:happybounce:

I wish a nice weekend to everybody! :rose:

I'm little late to comment here but anyway, I just watched the episode today.

I have the same opinion like you had, that season 5 cannot be surpassed. And I still think so. But season 8 was not bad and surprised me in a good way, also because season 6 and 7 were quite disappointing.

The angel part was awesome but I told Cas directly, that he cannot trust Medatron that easily. I told him to go to Kevin first and check everything with the tablet but stupid Cas never listens to me... x'D
Human Cas again now. I would love if he goes back to hunting with Dean. Also because I think that Sam will be out of business for a while. But I guess that Dean will think that Cas did that on purpose to shut the gates of heaven and that he will not listen and be angry with him.

And by the name of Chuck, I hate that Abadon. I still can't understand how silly it was from Dean and Sam to put her back together. They knew that she was more powerful than an ordinary demon, so why risking this..? Anyway, it happend. When she interrupted Sam and Crowleys little game I really disliked Crowleys blind arrogance. And afterwards he was that whiney little something... I hope that he just faked that. I'm not fond of the idea that demons could be healed with just some spoons of humanblood. It makes it too easy (of course it was everything else but easy for Sam, but that was only because of the trials).

The cliffhanger with the fallen angels is great. But does it really change the situation on earth that much? I mean the angels were pretty busy with themself lately and didn't care for humans anymore. As far as we now they were also tso busy to fight demons. And from Anna we learned that they don't remember that they have been angels before... I guess also the cupids fell, so maybe the problem will be that there is now more falling in love.

In the end the writers will surprise us anyway and nobody saw it coming... :iconohyoucasplz:
